Solidarity over charity

Liwanag At Dunong rejects the paternalistic savior complex. We do not bring salvation; we bring books, respect, and Sunday lessons designed in partnership with Katutubo elders.

Our volunteers work as absolute equals, creating safe spaces where indigenous children and elders gain the confidence to stand against systemic discrimination.

Systemic threats

Defending ancestral domains

Without literacy, Katutubo communities face severe exploitation, land-grabbing, and systemic discrimination in legal battles to protect their ancestral lands.

The legal barrier

Systemic exclusion

Exploitative contracts and legal documents are often used to strip indigenous people of their territories. Basic literacy is the first shield against land theft.

A lack of formal education isolates communities, preventing them from speaking out. We build the literacy tools needed to demand equal rights and self-determination.
